We are looking to hire 2 Lead Teachers and 1 Assistant Teacher, all of whom will work 15-16 hours per week at Wild Oaks. You will be a self-starter, reliable, warm, generous and patient, and posses a natural enthusiasm for nature-based learning. As a lead teacher, you will either possess a pre-school or K-12 teaching certificate, or be certified in a forest school curriculum, preferably CedarSong Way or Forest School Teacher Institute. As an assistant, you will have some experience working with children, and a heart for outdoor learning.

As a teacher or assistant, you will be responsible for 12 hours per week of supervision, teaching, and magical forest-focused inspiration for up to 12 students in an age-specific class. You will also spend 2-4 hours per week in community building / professional development, and interfacing and co-creating with other adults who offer enrichment and support. You will be excited to weave a strong adult-community with the co-creators of the school, as well as your fellow teachers.

School starts September 1, but we expect you to begin to work the week before we begin, and complete any necessary training over the summer months. We’ll work until the end of May, when you’ll have summers off to do your own thing, or lead a summer camp with students.

Each week, you’ll be at work from 8:15am - 12:45pm, Tuesday - Thursday, with an extra hour or two for adult community building and parent communication.

We are currently in the final stages of securing our location and budget for th 2026 - 2027 school year, While we are only offering part-time employment, and won’t offer benefits, we can assure you that our hourly rate will beat any pre-school or kindergarten in town.
